Technical Field Advisor – Field Engineering Program

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Engage in classroom education, online training, and hands-on experience through the Field Engineering Program.

• Cultivate technical knowledge in power generation systems, lean thinking practices, and leadership capabilities.

• Execute the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of gas and steam turbines at client locations.

• Conduct emergency and preventive maintenance tasks.

• Analyze and interpret electrical and mechanical flow diagrams as well as instrument schematics.

• Carry out dial and laser alignment and thermal growth assessments.

• Offer technical support and on-site training to customer representatives.

• Compile technical documentation, job status updates, and customer records.

• Adhere to GE Vernova's Environment, Health & Safety standards while working safely.

• Assist and mentor team members by disseminating field engineering expertise.

• Transition into a Technical Field Advisor position after the successful completion of the FEP, focusing on installation, maintenance, and warranty tasks on industrial rotating equipment.

⛳️ Requirements

• A technical or university degree in a relevant discipline, or a High School Diploma/GED (equivalent) accompanied by relevant experience in a field services or industrial maintenance capacity.

• Some experience in field services, maintenance of power generation equipment, or a closely related technical field.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical diagrams, flow charts, and instrument drawings.

• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.

• Willingness and readiness to travel extensively, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required by field assignments.

• Practical experience with Alstom, Siemens, or other original equipment manufacturer (OEM) power generation systems.

• Strong organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple priorities on-site.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of briefing customers, drafting reports, and sharing knowledge with colleagues.
