Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Execute field installations and start-up procedures.

• Carry out preventative maintenance and perform inspections/performance testing.

• Ensure product adherence to manufacturing specifications and application engineering/purchase standards.

• Record the performance of installed products.

• Educate and instruct users on the proper operation and maintenance of products.

• Diagnose, repair, and calibrate refrigeration, electronic, and electro-mechanical components using schematics and blueprints.

• Build and sustain strong customer relationships.

• Organize service calls at customer locations.

• Create service work and communicate the advantages of refrigeration and controller retrofits.

• Establish preventive maintenance agreements and carry out general service tasks.

• Stay informed about warranty, maintenance, and service policies and procedures.

• Keep vehicle logs and maintenance timelines up to date.

• Compile detailed field service and travel expense reports.

• Travel locally and regionally to various customer sites.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in refrigeration.

• Strong understanding of single-stage refrigeration systems.

• At least 2 years of work experience or training in commercial/industrial refrigeration or HVAC/R.

• Familiarity with electronics and controls programming.

• Relevant work experience in a similar service role.

• Valid driver's license required.

• Must be willing to undergo a 2–4 week training program at the facility located in Holland, Michigan.

• Preferred experience or training with cascade refrigeration systems.

• EPA Universal Certificate is preferred.

• Previous work experience in the environmental simulation systems sector is a plus.

• Must be able to travel weekly and stay in hotels for 4 nights each week.

• Capability to meet the specified physical demands, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
