Technical Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Further enhance and sustain Scania UK’s electrical division and electric vehicle (EV) preparedness across the network.

• Assist in the implementation and upkeep of Safe Systems of Work for high-voltage electrical and battery electric vehicle (BEV) operations.

• Serve as the primary technical liaison for branches regarding electrical safety, EV capabilities, and safe working methodologies.

• Collaborate with Branch Managers, Regional Directors, and the Training department to ensure the availability of necessary skills, training, equipment, and competencies.

• Guarantee adherence to UK electrical safety regulations, Scania standards, and reporting obligations.

• Keep BEV readiness documentation up-to-date and oversee network compliance reporting.

• Organize and assist in network audits, pinpoint risks, and execute corrective measures.

• Ensure that branches are equipped with the necessary tools, personal protective equipment (PPE), and safety gear.

• Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives for the safe servicing and repair of electric vehicles.

• Collaborate with Scania factory teams and franchise partners to exchange best practices and establish standards.

• Support the broader Technical Team with technical inquiries, quality deviations, case loads, and vehicle off-road (VOR) instances.


⛳️ Requirements

• Qualified – Scania Level 4 or capable of demonstrating a solid track record in EV repair and diagnostics, or Technical Engineering.

• Ability to positively influence decisions, behaviors, and outcomes to meet business objectives while promoting safe and efficient working practices.

• Capable of communicating clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, tailoring communication to various stakeholders, colleagues, and customers.

• Proficient in working cross-functionally, influencing senior stakeholders, and empowering Sales and Retail teams to provide EV-centric solutions.

• Focused on achieving significant goals and outcomes.

• Required travel: 25–50%.
