Technical Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver senior technical and operational leadership for IT, network, communications, instrumentation, and associated technology programs for the U.S. Army and DoD.

• Oversee complex, multi-site program activities, ensuring they align with contractual obligations, technical goals, schedules, and customer expectations.

• Manage simultaneous program deliveries across various geographical locations and operational settings.

• Provide technical guidance and expert knowledge to program managers, engineers, technical personnel, and operational teams.

• Engage with Government clients, including Army and DoD program offices, acquisition organizations, technical leadership, and operational stakeholders.

• Set and uphold objectives regarding cost, schedule, performance, quality, and risk.

• Supervise program execution while identifying, evaluating, and mitigating technical, operational, schedule, and resource-related risks.

• Assist in program planning, execution reviews, integrated master schedules, technical assessments, status reporting, and performance evaluations.

• Ensure that technical solutions and execution strategies adhere to Army, DoD, cybersecurity, network, acquisition, engineering, and operational standards.

• Lead cross-functional teams in delivering intricate technical capabilities and addressing program execution obstacles.

• Assess technical methodologies, architectures, systems integration efforts, and operational requirements.

• Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership based on program performance, risks, dependencies, and resource needs.

• Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, logistics, operations, acquisition, and other functional units.

• Support customer interactions, briefings, technical demonstrations, milestone assessments, and executive-level presentations.

• Monitor performance relative to objectives and devise corrective action strategies as needed.

• Mentor technical and program staff while fostering continuous process enhancements.

• Aid in business development, technical interviews, technical documentation, proposal writing assistance, and proposal color reviews.

• Carry out additional technical and program management responsibilities that support mission and contract goals.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active Secret security clearance is mandatory.

• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in leading operational execution of IT, network, communications, instrumentation, or related technical programs within the U.S. Army or DoD.

• At least 5 years of experience in the last decade managing concurrent, multi-site program deliveries.

• Experience serving as a Government Product Lead, Assistant Program Manager, Program Manager, or in a comparable leadership role within an Army Acquisition Category (ACAT) program.

• Responsible for or directly accountable for cost, schedule, and performance management.

• Current DAWIA Level III certification, or Practitioner-level equivalent under the current DoD credentialing framework, in Program Management or Systems Engineering.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physical Sciences, or a related technical field.

• Comfortable with extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Capable of lifting up to 10–15 pounds at a time.
