This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Strategize, design, and execute captivating social systems that enhance player connectivity and foster long-term engagement.
• Develop and refine system logic, scripting, and data configurations using proprietary tools and technologies.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to establish requirements, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the stability of tools and content.
• Work alongside UX and design leads to set standards for matchmaking, progression, and player-to-player interactions.
• Adjust gameplay and social dynamics to achieve an optimal balance of usability, reward, and engagement.
• Engage in playtesting and incorporate feedback from both partners and internal teams.
• Generate and maintain comprehensive documentation for features, systems, and tools.
• Assist in enhancing workflows and tools for the design team.
• Communicate effectively across various disciplines and time zones to align both technical and creative objectives.
• Proficiency in C++ and the ability to complete a basic coding assessment.
• Professional background as a systems or technical designer on a multiplayer or live-service game.
• Experience in designing player-oriented social systems, including friends lists, parties, matchmaking, and shared progression.
• Technical experience in scripting with languages such as Lua, Python, or similar.
• Exceptional cross-disciplinary communication skills, particularly with engineering and UX teams.
• Familiarity with version control and collaboration tools like Perforce, Jira, and Confluence.
• Over 5 years of relevant professional experience in game or technical design.
• At least one published title in a technical design role, serving as lead or principal for a feature, system, or tool.
• Comfort in working within embedded partner teams and proprietary toolsets.
• Experience collaborating on live or multiplayer projects is preferred.
