This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Create the visual concept, editorial layout, and final production files for a photography-driven coffee table book spanning approximately 80–120 pages.
• Establish a unified visual and editorial design system, inclusive of representative layouts.
• Design the entire publication, covering aspects such as covers, front and back matter, chapter openings, longform stories, profiles, photo-led spreads, and impactful pages.
• Incorporate photography, captions, credits, impact data, and brand assets provided by NESsT.
• Develop a limited set of straightforward publication-ready charts, maps, timelines, statistics, and callouts utilizing approved NESsT data.
• Integrate and adjust the approved English manuscript, incorporating revisions during formal review stages.
• Prepare final files suitable for print and digital formats.
• Present an approved visual and editorial design system along with representative layouts.
• By December 1, deliver a release-ready digital package that includes the introduction, ten longform stories, related impact pages, and supporting front matter.
• By December 11, provide the complete publication layout, including one print-ready PDF, one optimized digital PDF, and organized editable source files.
• Collaborate with NESsT and an internationally distributed team throughout the kickoff, design review, proof review, and final delivery phases.
• A minimum of five years of professional experience in publication or editorial design.
• Advanced skills in Adobe InDesign and related Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
• Extensive experience with comprehensive, long-form, multi-section print publications.
• Proven capability to use typography, photography, pacing, and page composition to craft a cohesive editorial narrative.
• Familiarity with photography-rich publications, information design, commercial printing, color management, prepress processes, and production-file preparation.
• Exceptional attention to detail, file management, quality control, deadline adherence, and ability to collaborate with a distributed international team.
• Significant experience in designing complete, long-form print publications; experience limited to brochures, one-pagers, websites, presentation decks, social media assets, or short reports is not sufficient on its own.
• Candidates must submit a brief statement of interest and methodology.
• Three to five completed editorial publications, including at least two that exceed 60 pages and at least one that is photography-driven for a premium audience.
• Portfolio details for each submission.
• Team composition, if applying as a studio.
• Fixed-fee budget detailing assumptions, exclusions, taxes, reimbursable costs, and third-party expenses.
• Confirmation of availability to meet the deadlines of December 1 and December 11.
• Applicants must be available between November 2 and December 11, 2026.
• Preferred: experience with nonprofit, foundation, social entrepreneurship, international development, ESG, or impact-investing organizations.
• Preferred: experience in designing donor-facing impact communications and stewardship materials.
• Preferred: experience with coffee table books, museum publications, foundation reports, premium annual reports, or similar publications.
• Preferred: ability to translate complex social, environmental, and economic impact narratives into engaging visual experiences.
