Technical Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Conduct independent technical evaluations of proposed components against claimed commercial equivalents.

• Create detailed side-by-side comparisons of key characteristics utilizing drawings, specifications, and technical data.

• Analyze and document similarities in form, fit, and function, including the context of application and installation.

• Measure and characterize technical discrepancies that influence price differences, contributing to the analyst's pricing analysis.

• Compose technical narratives that support or challenge supplier claims.

• Identify comparable components and alternative commercial sources during market research assistance.

• Contest unsupported claims with justifiable technical reasoning.

⛳️ Requirements

• Degree in mechanical, electrical, or aerospace engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 3 years of experience in component engineering, alternative sourcing, EPA/TDR development, should-cost analysis, or value engineering within an aerospace hardware context.

• Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical data packages.

• Experience in evaluating part equivalence for source substitution or qualification purposes.

• Knowledge of aerospace product families across both commercial and defense sectors.

• Proficient in technical writing aimed at a compliance audience rather than an engineering audience.

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
