Process Mechanical Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create straightforward process-mechanical components for environmental infrastructure initiatives.

• Conduct calculations for sizing and selecting piping, equipment, and piping accessories.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including architects, structural engineers, electrical and instrumentation controls engineers, and building-mechanical engineers.

• Produce final design drawings and specifications for process-mechanical components.

• Assist BIM professionals in the development of 3D models and construction contract documents.

• Evaluate construction-phase submissions to ensure compliance with project specifications.

• Address contractor inquiries for information.

• Conduct site observations throughout the construction phase.

• Provide support during conceptual, preliminary, and final design stages.

• Offer construction-phase assistance for process-mechanical components.

• Modify and carry out additional tasks based on changing requirements.

• May mentor, guide, assist, and share knowledge with less experienced team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, chemical, or mechanical engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience is mandatory.

• Engineer in Training (EIT) License is required.

• At least 2 years of experience in process mechanical engineering or a related field.

• Proven experience in coordinating with interdisciplinary teams.

• Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software tools.

• Intermediate understanding of process mechanical engineering concepts and practices.

• Intermediate analytical skills for assessing and designing processes for infrastructure projects.

• Basic proficiency in process-mechanical software analysis tools.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.

• Basic knowledge of the construction process related to environmental infrastructure projects.

• Subject to a pre-employment background check and drug test.

• Preferred: 4+ years of experience in process mechanical engineering or a related field.

• Preferred: Design experience with pumping systems, water and wastewater treatment equipment, aeration and plant air compressor/blowers, piping system design, pressure control/relief, and technical specifications.

• Preferred: Strong project or task management capabilities.

• Preferred: Proven technical writing skills.

• Preferred: Familiarity with AFT Fathom and Visual Hydraulics.

• Preferred: Experience using BIM collaboration tools (BIM 360 and Navisworks).
