This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Assume responsibility for commercial Solar PV and related renewable energy projects from handover through to mobilization, installation, commissioning, completion, and customer handover.
• Assess project scope, technical requirements, schedules, and delivery assumptions prior to mobilization.
• Organize and coordinate labor, subcontractors, materials, equipment, and site access.
• Conduct pre-start meetings and necessary site visits.
• Create and manage project timelines and delivery milestones.
• Coordinate internal installation teams, electricians, external contractors, and specialized installation partners.
• Oversee multiple projects at various stages of delivery.
• Maintain regular communication with customers and project stakeholders.
• Track progress and address delays, technical challenges, and delivery issues.
• Identify and manage variations and changes in scope.
• Offer technical electrical leadership and support.
• Evaluate electrical designs, drawings, specifications, and Solar PV installation proposals.
• Resolve technical challenges during installation and commissioning phases.
• Ensure that testing, certification, and commissioning are conducted accurately.
• Guarantee compliance with electrical regulations, industry standards, MCS requirements, DNO applications, approvals, and Building Control requirements.
• Maintain project and technical documentation, including O&M manuals and customer handover packs.
• Carry out detailed site surveys and evaluate electrical infrastructure, capacity, cable routes, access, and installation constraints.
• Identify technical, installation, access, and health and safety risks.
• Assist in developing project specifications, scopes of work, installation methodologies, RFQs, and subcontractor selection.
• Provide practical insights into labor, scheduling, access, equipment, and material needs.
• Collaborate with technical and commercial teams to ensure that survey data is incorporated into project scopes and specifications.
• Build and sustain a network of dependable installation partners and assess contractor performance.
• Certified electrician with recognized electrical qualifications.
• Significant hands-on experience in commercial electrical installations.
• Proven practical experience in installing Solar PV systems.
• Solid understanding of current electrical regulations.
• Experience in managing electrical works, sites, teams, or projects.
• Capability to supervise electricians, subcontractors, and installation teams.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong planning and organizational abilities.
• Confident in communicating with customers, contractors, and colleagues.
• Good IT proficiency and comfort with project and business management systems.
• Strong written communication and documentation skills.
• Practical problem-solving approach.
• Commercial awareness.
• Valid UK driving license.
• Willingness to travel across the UK as required.
• Desirable: experience in commercial Solar PV installation, commercial EV charging installation, electrical supervision, Solar or EV installation supervision, electrical project management, overseeing electrical subcontractors, MCS, DNO applications and grid connections, NICEIC or equivalent compliance environments, commissioning and fault finding, RAMS and site documentation, project commercial management, and customer-facing project delivery.
