This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.
• Enhance visibility into the work, ownership, and delivery risks of external teams.
• Ensure that delivery plans are realistic, transparent, aligned with business priorities, and properly monitored.
• Identify teams that are lagging and investigate the underlying causes.
• Question inadequate plans, unrealistic estimates, ambiguous ownership, and superficial status reports.
• Confirm that reported progress accurately reflects actual engineering output.
• Enhance planning and forecasting practices using evidence-based delivery methods.
• Collaborate with QA and engineering leads to monitor escaped bugs, rework, release readiness, and quality gates based on the Definition of Ready/Done.
• Manage cross-team dependencies, ensure that blockers are owned and resolved, and conduct fact-based escalations.
• Evaluate the composition of external teams, including role coverage, seniority mix, areas of ownership, and capability gaps.
• Identify delivery and quality challenges stemming from team structure, ownership, skills, allocation, technical leadership, or requirements.
• Ensure that external teams adhere to company delivery protocols, documentation requirements, engineering standards, quality gates, and reporting practices.
• Develop vendor/team delivery scorecards that assess predictability, quality, responsiveness, planning accuracy, reliability, and escalation patterns.
• Convey delivery status, risks, and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating issues into business impact.
• Work in collaboration with external engineering and vendor leaders, product managers, engineering and technical leads, QA, platform engineering, and business stakeholders.
• Over 7 years of experience in software delivery, technical or engineering delivery management, technical program management, or engineering leadership.
• Proven track record in managing delivery across multiple external teams, vendors, or distributed partners.
• Experience overseeing delivery among engineering teams, vendors, or delivery groups with approximately 20–35 members.
• Familiarity with various business models or product environments.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, agile delivery, estimation, release planning, QA workflows, and engineering team dynamics.
• Ability to create delivery reports and analyses while identifying gaps obscured by reporting.
• Proficiency in delivery metrics such as planned vs. actual, cycle time, throughput, escaped bugs, rework, blocked work, and predictability.
• Expertise in risk and dependency management.
• Outstanding communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Practical experience with tools such as Jira, GitHub, Confluence, Linear, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience in multi-product SaaS environments and in organizations reliant on external engineering partners is a plus.
• Familiarity with developing vendor scorecards or frameworks for assessing delivery performance is a plus.
• Experience in implementing Definitions of Ready/Done, release checklists, or quality gates is a plus.
• Professional proficiency in English communication; resumes should be submitted in English.
