Technical Business Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Lead discovery sessions with stakeholders to gather and document product requirements.

• Visualize intricate concepts through technical designs, system workflows, user journeys, and business processes.

• Convert functional requirements into comprehensive technical specifications.

• Take ownership of and prioritize the team’s backlog of user stories.

• Work collaboratively with engineers to refine product requirements.

• Facilitate agile refinement sessions across various teams.

• Continuously enhance processes to optimize collaboration and efficiency between business and engineering teams.

• Identify root causes through targeted questioning and challenge existing assumptions.

• Establish the business context, acceptance criteria, and stakeholder impact.

• Address logic and domain-related questions, maintain a well-organized backlog, and ensure internal documentation is up to date.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of dedicated experience in Business Analysis or a closely related technical role within agile software development teams.

• Demonstrated ability to ask focused questions, constructively challenge assumptions, and prioritize root cause analysis over simple order-taking.

• Technical proficiency to engage in technical discussions, comprehend API/system workflows, and keep pace with rapidly evolving engineering teams.

• Exceptional capability to create clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation.

• Ability to interpret complex technical concepts in an understandable manner for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Strong product and domain intuition to make real-time decisions on minor logic questions to prevent developer blockers.

• Robust analytical and conceptual thinking skills for breaking down complex business problems.

• Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills to prioritize and oversee multiple initiatives.

• Solid understanding and proven experience applying Agile principles within software development teams.

• Practical experience with APIs, web services, and web-based software projects.
