Teamlead Software Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Lead a diverse team of 4–6 software developers across various functions.

• Oversee the professional and technical growth of team members.

• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of key components of Checkmk software.

• Assume roles such as coach, motivator, or sparring partner as needed.

• Actively engage in software development while ensuring high quality through code reviews.

• Mentor team members and facilitate 1:1 meetings and feedback sessions.

• Assist in the personal and professional development of individual developers.

• Foster team culture and camaraderie through team-building activities and initiatives.

• Recruit new team members to strengthen the team.

• Align team requirements with those of the engineering manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive engineering experience.

• A university degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.

• Over 5 years of hands-on development experience in Python; knowledge of C++/Rust is advantageous.

• Experience in managing or leading a team, including hiring, conducting 1:1s, providing feedback, team building, and delivering quality code on schedule.

• A sustained interest in coding while shaping the team and being accountable for team outcomes.

• A positive attitude and a motivating presence.

• Ability to excel in an international setting.

• Proficiency in English; fluency in German is a significant advantage.

• A product-focused mindset.

• Strong writing abilities and capacity to manage work asynchronously.
