This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Oversee a team of engineers, drafters, designers, and/or technicians.
• Ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality completion of assigned Electrical Engineering scopes.
• Assist in the development, enforcement, and implementation of departmental Standard Best Practices.
• Mentor and coach team members to support their professional development.
• Conduct detailed design of electrical power systems, including diagrams, schematics, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, grounding, equipment selection, specifications, cost estimates, and scheduling.
• Prepare computer-based models and perform power system studies, including short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, arc flash, motor starting, power factor, and harmonic analysis.
• Develop, set, test, wire, and install protective relaying and control systems.
• Review equipment data sheets, manuals, testing reports, submittals, and engineering work.
• Identify opportunities for value engineering and design efficiency.
• Assign and coordinate tasks with entry-level engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.
• Support business development, marketing efforts, and proposal preparation.
• Assist with engineering budgets, scope expectations, and technical change order documentation.
• Provide field assistance, troubleshooting, and observation reports.
• Stay informed about applicable codes, standards, and construction practices.
• Maintain relationships with clients and uphold ethical and professional standards.
• Participate in training, conferences, workshops, seminars, and classes as needed.
• Attend safety training and adhere to safety rules and guidelines.
• Complete additional job-related tasks as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
• At least 5 years of relevant engineering or field experience.
• FE certification is required; PE certification is preferred.
• Knowledge and familiarity with medium and low voltage distribution, switchgear, motor control centers, and industrial instrumentation and controls.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• High proficiency with power system software such as DIgSILENT/PowerFactory, EasyPower, ETAP or SKM, CDEGS, and CYMCAP is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word, as well as standard computer software.
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality work with attention to detail.
• Capability to develop staff through mentoring and coaching.
• Strong command of the English language.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Experience with renewable energy (solar, wind, BESS, etc.) is a plus, but not required.
• Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs.
