This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Oversee the daily accounting operations, ensure forecasting accuracy, and manage budgeting for designated HEI assets.
• Supervise the month-end closing process, balance sheet reconciliation, and enhance processes within the control environment of the assigned hotels.
• Implement and introduce HEI initiatives and guidelines to newly managed properties.
• Provide support at properties to bridge management coverage gaps.
• Oversee and guide the financial activities of the hotel, protect assets, and prepare financial statements in compliance with GAAP and HEI standards.
• Conduct special financial analyses as requested by the General Manager and Corporate Office.
• Engage in Executive Committee and staff meetings.
• Aid managers in evaluating statements, distributions, and other financial information.
• Address deficiencies highlighted in Internal Audit reports.
• Administer cash control systems, audit assets and inventories, and handle leases, contracts, covenants, and restrictions.
• Prepare and coordinate the annual operating and capital expenditure budgets.
• Regulate capital expenditures and carry out ROI analyses.
• Prepare and assess financial statements, and communicate financial issues and performance metrics to management.
• Coordinate the labor management system for the property.
• Manage accounts receivable, enforce credit policies, oversee collections, write-offs, and credit loss reporting.
• Complete necessary financial reports and requests from HEI Corporate offices.
• Reconcile asset and liability account balances and oversee accruals, prepaid accounts, inventories, and payment deferrals.
• Maintain job descriptions and standards for the department, establish cross-training initiatives, and recruit management candidates.
• Execute other assigned duties.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Hotel Management.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Finance and Accounting within the Hotel or Hospitality sector.
• Demonstrated analytical approach to problem-solving, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong assertive personality and professional demeanor.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adjust communication style to cater to various audiences.
• Solid experience in the hotel or service industry, ideally within a multi-unit environment.
• Proven ability to effectively manage multiple complex project work streams to successful outcomes.
• Flexibility and capability to adapt to evolving business requirements.
• Travel is required 100% of the time.
