This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Oversee the daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in forecasting and budgeting for the designated HEI assets.
• Manage the month-end closing process, balance sheet reconciliations, process enhancements, and the control environment for assigned hotels.
• Implement and introduce HEI initiatives and directives to newly acquired hotels.
• Address management coverage gaps at the properties.
• Guide and supervise the financial functions of the hotels.
• Protect assets and prepare financial reports in accordance with GAAP and HEI standards.
• Conduct financial analyses and offer interpretations of policies.
• Participate actively in Executive Committee and staff meetings.
• Support managers with financial statements, distributions, and data.
• Rectify deficiencies highlighted in Internal Audit findings.
• Maintain cash control systems, audit inventory, and assess asset security.
• Draft annual operating and capital expenditure budgets.
• Oversee capital expenditure initiatives and perform ROI analyses.
• Prepare and evaluate financial statements, communicating any financial matters to management.
• Coordinate the property's labor management systems.
• Handle accounts receivable, credit policies, collections, and write-off meetings.
• Complete necessary financial reports and requests for HEI Corporate offices.
• Reconcile asset and liability account balances while managing accruals and prepaid accounts.
• Monitor inventory levels and adhere to payment-deferral policies.
• Maintain current job descriptions and standards for the department.
• Develop cross-training programs and identify, screen, and attract management candidates.
• Perform additional assigned duties.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Hotel Management.
• More than 3 years of experience in Finance and Accounting within the Hotel or Hospitality sector.
• A detail-oriented and analytical approach to problem-solving.
• A confident personality with a professional demeanor.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adjust communication styles to fit various audiences.
• Solid experience in the hotel or service industry, ideally in a multi-unit context.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple and complex project work streams to successful outcomes.
• Adaptability and flexibility to meet changing business demands.
• Willingness to travel 100% of the time.
