This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Oversee the Office of Grants Management to guarantee quality, compliance, and service excellence.
• Conduct interviews, provide training, onboard new employees, manage paid leave, process payroll, and evaluate employee performance.
• Ensure adherence to Carle standard operating procedures and recognized grant regulations.
• Collaborate with project directors and leadership on financial and administrative components of grant proposals.
• Review and submit grant applications on behalf of Carle Health.
• Provide interpretation and guidance on sponsor application instructions, terms, and conditions.
• Supervise post-award activities, including cost allowability, sponsor invoicing, financial and progress reporting, extensions, and changes to scope or budget.
• Initiate, review, and modify consortium agreements, as well as issue or obtain sub-awards.
• Maintain project management timelines and assess proposals for compliance with solicitation criteria.
• Address inquiries from sponsors, funding agencies, and internal administrative bodies.
• Manage payroll allocations and grant commitments while generating and auditing monthly Effort Certifications.
• Engage in Grants Module workstreams, test new functionalities, resolve cross-functional challenges, and develop training materials.
• Assist with grant-related elements of reorganizations and acquisitions.
• Contribute to the preparation of annual budgets and negotiations for Indirect Cost Rate Agreements.
• Support the development of grant policies, operating procedures, training, and other accounting transactions.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and up-to-date grant records while collaborating on grant audits and closeout documentation.
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in a related area.
• Proven experience in a relevant field.
• Capacity to review and submit grant applications from federal, state, local government, and private entities.
• Understanding of grant finance, compliance, financial reporting, and regulatory obligations.
• Proficient in managing pre-award and post-award grant processes.
• Ability to interpret instructions, terms, and conditions from sponsors.
• Experience with sponsor billing, budget revisions, no-cost extensions, supplemental funding requests, and financial/progress reporting.
• Capability to manage inter-institutional consortium agreements and sub-awards.
• Knowledge of payroll allocations, grant obligations, and Effort Certifications.
• Competence to participate in Grants Module workstreams, test new releases, and create training resources.
• Ability to assist with negotiations regarding indirect cost rates, grant policies, procedures, and training.
