This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Assist Regional and Corporate Management in determining staffing requirements
• Address personnel shortages resulting from employee turnover
• Assess staffing needs during the transition phases of new projects
• Suggest personnel reassignments prior to the conclusion of projects
• Evaluate interns for potential full-time job offers
• Collaborate with leadership to define manpower requirements and investigate new market opportunities
• Propose recruiting events and outreach initiatives and assess their effectiveness
• Foster relationships with military installations through career fairs and local outreach efforts
• Adhere to recruiting regulations at the federal, state, and local levels
• Advertise and post available job openings
• Review and filter resumes and applications
• Conduct initial screening interviews and coordinate subsequent interview processes
• Prepare employment offer letters when applicable
• Collaborate with staffing agencies, social media, and advertising firms as necessary
• Analyze and strategically engage with competitors
• Promote the Baker brand effectively
• Manage travel, relocation logistics, and visa documentation when required
• Follow up with new hires and managers to ensure a positive onboarding experience
• Cultivate candidate relationships and advocate for available roles and company values
• Maintain the Black Book through networking and participation in industry events
• Utilize the LMS and encourage co-worker engagement
• Supervise Applicant Tracker management and explore the resume repository
• Document applicant and candidate statuses throughout the recruitment process
• Use The Marketing Collective for PowerPoint presentations and recruitment materials
• Keep records up to date
• Attend HR staff meetings and contribute to the development of HR objectives and systems
• Promote an Incident and Injury Free culture and adhere to safety protocols
• Bachelor’s Degree and eight (8) years of experience, ideally in construction, or a comparable combination of education and experience
• Capability to present information in both written and oral formats to colleagues at all levels
• Proficient in reading and understanding procedures, regulations, and laws
• Strong communication skills, including proficiency in social media
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations such as addition, subtraction, division, percentages, and ratios
• Experience in developing and adhering to a talent management budget
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Proficiency with recruiting job boards and platforms such as LinkedIn and Indeed
• Familiarity with SuccessFactors is preferred
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues at all levels in a team-oriented environment
• Skilled at networking and establishing relationships with industry professionals
• Competence in enhancing talent pools and pipelines through mentoring
• Strong negotiation and collaboration skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Adaptability to diverse situations
• Effective listening skills
• Capacity to identify recruitment challenges and devise innovative solutions
• Proficiency in evaluating personalities and skill sets
• Ability to conduct research and analyze data

• Ability to navigate both office and occasionally construction site settings

• Willingness and ability to travel short and long distances
• Capability to handle objects weighing up to 10 pounds
• Minimum travel commitment of 25%
