Systems Engineer – Stadiums and Wi-Fi Solutions

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Design, strategize, and supervise the execution of intricate network solutions for sports and entertainment venues.

• Create and deliver presentations to executive, management, and technical audiences.

• Act as a representative for Extreme Networks at trade shows, seminars, industry events, and customer briefings.

• Assess customer needs and architect solutions that position Extreme Networks products favorably against competitors.

• Showcase Extreme Networks products and communicate the competitive advantages and technical distinctions effectively.

• Handle complex customer interactions while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Support, and Product teams to ensure smooth project delivery.

• Diagnose and resolve network issues in active customer environments.

• Provide support to the Sports and Entertainment sector in a pre-sales role.

• Travel to customer locations as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of pertinent experience in network engineering, systems design, or pre-sales.

• In-depth knowledge of 802.11 Wi-Fi technologies and wireless network design.

• Strong expertise in wired, wireless, and security networking technologies with established competitive industry experience.

• Proven capability to influence customer choices and replace competing solutions.

• Practical experience with industry-standard network tools (Ekahau, Hamina, NetScout, or similar).

• Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities in enterprise network settings.

• Strong grasp of network and systems security design principles, implementation, and evaluation.

• Excellent technical communication and presentation abilities.

• Proven track record of working independently and coordinating with cross-functional teams.

• Willingness and readiness to travel within the assigned region up to 60% of the time.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Preferred: Industry wireless certifications (CWTS, CWNA, CWDP, CWAP, or similar).

• Preferred: Familiarity with Extreme Networks products and solutions.

• Preferred: Successful history in sports, entertainment, or venue-focused networking projects.

• Knowledge of wired switching and routing, as well as Layer 2/3 technologies.

• Understanding of IPv4/IPv6 routing protocols, including RIPv1/v2/v3, OSPFv2/v3, VRRP, MPLS, BGP, and PIM.

• Familiarity with network access and security protocols, such as RADIUS, 802.1X, Active Directory, and LDAP.

• Knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems.

• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

• Understanding of network analysis and troubleshooting tools.
