Business Systems Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as a hands-on technical contributor and player-coach, directly involved in developing and reviewing code for Salesforce and MuleSoft integrations while providing DBA-level guidance and support.

• Establish technical direction and best practices for Salesforce and NetSuite development, MuleSoft integration architecture, Databricks/data platform initiatives, and database administration.

• Own the roadmap for enhancing team capabilities in ETL, data platforms, and DBA disciplines, which includes training, hiring, and process development.

• Lead, mentor, and manage a distributed team of roughly eight business systems developers located in the U.S., Canada, and Asia, covering hiring, performance management, career development, and task prioritization.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technology leadership to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.

• Provide oversight for database administration, which encompasses performance tuning, security, backup/recovery, and data governance for production databases.

• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements across business systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated hands-on experience as a Salesforce developer (Apex, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce, Flow, SOQL/SOSL), including custom development and complex integrations.

• Practical database administration skills (schema design, performance tuning, security, backup/recovery) across relational databases.

• Proven hands-on experience with modern code generation tools such as Cursor, Github CoPilot, VsCode, or similar.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience leading, managing, or mentoring a team of developers.

• Development/story work on your own set of responsibilities.

• Experience with Databricks or other modern data platforms is strongly preferred.

• NetSuite development/administration experience is preferred.

• Hands-on experience with MuleSoft development (Anypoint Platform, DataWeave, API-led connectivity) or a strong readiness to lead a team in building this capability.

• Experience managing distributed global teams across various time zones.

• Strong understanding of API integration patterns, ETL/data pipelines, and enterprise system architecture.

• Solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance standards.

• Strong project management skills; Agile/Scrum experience is preferred.

• Relevant certifications are preferred, such as Salesforce Platform Developer I/II, MuleSoft Certified Developer, or database/cloud data certifications.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts for business stakeholders and represent the team to senior leadership.
