Advanced Space Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Assist in supporting systems that incorporate digital signal processing algorithms executed in both hardware and software for space-based applications.

• Create digital signal processing algorithms aimed at the statistical analysis of signal parameter measurements.

• Utilize methodologies from Detection & Estimation Theory, Random Processes Analysis, and Communications and Information Theory.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related field in Science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics, along with 5+ years of relevant work experience; alternatively, a Master's degree with 3 years of applicable experience.

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

• Proficiency in Python.

• Familiarity with the development of SmallSats and CubeSats.

• Experience in Hardware Prototype Development, including “FlatSat,” “Hardware Integration,” and “Hardware in-the-loop” Systems Integration and Testing.

• Practical knowledge of MATLAB for DSP, utilizing relevant toolboxes.

• A background in Radar Processing, DSP for mitigating/processing RF effects, Monte Carlo analysis, or Phased Array/Beam Forming is advantageous.

• Expertise in Electrical Engineering and/or Systems Engineering, particularly focused on communications or digital signal processing.

• Experience with Agile methodologies in hardware, software, or firmware development, including DevOps and CI/CD practices.

• Familiarity with Digital Engineering, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), SySML, MagicDraw, or Cameo.

• Experience in the design, development, or integration and testing (I&T) of Space Payloads.

• A solid understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, theories, and technical standards.

• A clear grasp of requirements management and system modeling tools.

• Capability to quickly understand and apply new information while managing increasing responsibilities with growing complexity.
