Senior Sales Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Act as a reliable technical advisor for Veeam’s most significant and strategic clients.

• Collaborate with Enterprise Account Executives to formulate and implement technical strategies across designated named accounts.

• Oversee intricate pre-sales engagements from initial discovery and solution design to demonstration, proof of concept, technical validation, and closure.

• Establish connections with customer architects, infrastructure and security leaders, technical decision-makers, and executive stakeholders.

• Convert business objectives, technical needs, and risk considerations into robust architectures spanning hybrid, multi-cloud, SaaS, and enterprise infrastructure environments.

• Provide technical demonstrations, presentations, workshops, and executive-level discussions that link Veeam’s capabilities to customer results.

• Design and lead proofs of concept (POCs) with established success criteria aimed at achieving technical closure.

• Work collaboratively with sales, specialized teams, channel partners, and technology alliances.

• Identify technical risks, competitive factors, and architectural needs while developing strategies for mitigation.

• Strengthen relationships with existing enterprise customers while also supporting new strategic accounts.

• Represent Veeam during customer briefings, industry events, executive meetings, and field activities as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in pre-sales engineering, systems engineering, solutions engineering, solution architecture, or a comparable customer-facing technical role.

• Experience in supporting large, complex enterprise or named accounts and managing multi-stakeholder technical sales processes.

• Demonstrated ability to guide discovery, solution architecture, demonstrations, POCs, and technical validation to successful closure.

• Strong technical background in enterprise infrastructure, encompassing data resilience/data protection, virtualization, cloud services, storage, networking, and security.

• Experience in designing solutions across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

• Capacity to translate highly technical concepts into clear business value for both technical and executive audiences.

• Excellent presentation, communication, discovery, and storytelling abilities.

• Capability to work independently, prioritize strategic opportunities, and maintain accountability across a complex territory.

• A collaborative, customer-centric approach and a commitment to continuously enhance technical and industry knowledge.

• Preferred: experience with enterprise backup, recovery, data resilience, cyber resilience, or data security technologies.

• Preferred: experience collaborating directly with enterprise Account Executives on named-account strategies.

• Preferred: existing relationships or experience within large enterprise organizations in the assigned territory.

• Preferred: knowledge of AWS, Microsoft Azure, virtualization, Kubernetes, and SaaS environments.

• Preferred: experience working within partner, channel, and technology alliance ecosystems.
