This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Acquire practical experience in the design, execution, and management of Building Automation Systems (BAS) projects across healthcare, industrial, commercial, and mission-critical/technology sectors.
• Provide technical assistance to plan, schedule, and carry out hardware and software engineering and implementation of BAS projects.
• Collaborate with design engineers, construction contractors, equipment vendors, and client personnel to ensure the proper functioning and acceptance of automation and software solutions.
• Conduct basic engineering tasks and design activities under the guidance of a senior engineer.
• Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to create drawings and visual representations.
• Assist in reviewing and developing drawing details, schedules, operational sequences, and drawing content.
• Aid in the selection and sourcing of DDC programmable controllers, instrumentation, sensors, and field devices.
• Review and potentially assist with shop drawings, submittals, product data, operation & maintenance manuals, and as-built documents.
• Evaluate existing building conditions and compile technical reports.
• Gather data and information for construction documentation.
• Prepare project design and construction documents.
• Review and revise project specifications.
• Collaborate with the engineering and project management teams during construction activities.
• Assess shop drawings and submittals.
• Review and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Assist with punch lists and project closeout documentation.
• Support project communication, reporting, and progress updates for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage personal hours using company tools.
• Complete assigned responsibilities and deliverables punctually and within budget.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.
• Currently pursuing or have recently completed a bachelor's degree, certification, apprenticeship, or technical program in engineering, construction, or a related field.
• Enrollment in a program from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals.
• Familiarity with control system principles.
• Knowledge of IoT, smart building solutions, building automation systems, and/or DDC/PLC systems.
• Understanding of open-source protocols including BACnet, Modbus, and SNMP.
• Basic proficiency with MS Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Ability to utilize AI and emerging technologies to enhance workflows and optimize operational processes.
• Capacity to thrive in a remote environment with effective communication, organization, self-motivation, proactivity, and resourcefulness.
• Capability to adhere to company and site safety protocols.
• Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports, and correspondence.
• Proficient in effectively communicating technical and non-technical information both orally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with moderate supervision.
• Capacity to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Physical capability to meet demands, including handling small parts/tools, remaining stationary, navigating through office and critical-facility environments, climbing stairs/ladders, and occasionally moving equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%, potentially to any or all 50 U.S. states.
• Possession of a valid REAL ID or an acceptable alternative, such as a passport, for business air travel.
