Senior Financial Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Offer technical leadership and expertise in the design, development, implementation, and support of integrations between financial systems and enterprise applications, collaborating with Finance and IS teams.

• Oversee the technical elements of financial systems projects, including gathering requirements, designing solutions, testing, implementing, and continuously improving processes.

• Collaborate with Finance and IS stakeholders to assess business requirements, recommend solutions and enhancements, and pinpoint opportunities to enhance existing systems, processes, and reporting.

• Design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot integrations between Aderant Expert and other financial, business, and enterprise applications using Microsoft technologies, such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).

• Create, develop, optimize, and support SQL Server database solutions, including complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions, and other database objects that facilitate financial applications, reporting, integrations, and automation.

• Design, create, and maintain reporting solutions utilizing SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and other reporting tools to provide operational, financial, and ad hoc reporting capabilities.

• Generate and maintain thorough technical documentation for financial applications, integrations, automated processes, and reporting solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in finance or an IS-related field, or equivalent experience.

• 7-10 years of experience in supporting financial systems, business applications, and SQL Server databases.

• Familiarity with Aderant Expert, including database structures, APIs, and integration technologies, or a similar enterprise financial management platform.

• Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL, covering database development, query optimization, performance tuning, data analysis, data validation, and troubleshooting intricate relational data issues.

• Experience in designing, developing, and supporting SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages and related integration solutions.

• Background in developing reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and other reporting tools.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Visual Studio and related development tools; experience with Power BI is preferred.

• Familiarity with AI and machine learning technologies is preferred.

• Demonstrated capability to independently manage and lead technical initiatives from requirements gathering through design, development, implementation, and ongoing support with minimal supervision.

• Proven ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects, production support tasks, and competing business demands while consistently meeting deadlines.

• Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and urgency, with the capacity to quickly assess issues, determine suitable solutions, and execute effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey complex technical concepts in business terms for varied audiences and to create comprehensive technical documentation.

• Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and customer service skills.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively across Finance, IS, vendors, and other business stakeholders.

• Experience working with highly sensitive or confidential financial and client information.
