This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the complete systems design for the MyFitnessPal product data stack.
• Create, drive, and sustain the systems architecture roadmap for the product data stack.
• Act as the main contact for the Data Platform concerning the consolidated data stack.
• Coordinate efforts among Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Product Analytics, and backend engineering teams.
• Establish and uphold data movement and standardization practices throughout the stack.
• Lead architecture reviews for new tool selections and assess vendors in relation to the existing stack.
• Identify tool redundancies and collaborate on proof-of-value assessments.
• Contribute to the compliance framework for user data, including PII tagging and deletion/DSR policies.
• Manage access and licensing across the data stack.
• Maintain a cohesive overview of expenditures and access.
• Document and promote architecture decisions, standards, and ownership models throughout the organization.
• 8–12+ years of experience in systems design, architecture, or engineering roles.
• 3–5 years of experience in designing end-to-end data platform architecture at the architect/staff level.
• Background in architecting integrations for a modern customer data stack, encompassing product analytics, experimentation, attribution, and marketing activation tools.
• Familiarity with Snowflake or comparable cloud data platforms, including performance optimization, cost management, and role-based access design.
• Proven experience in leading vendor evaluations, tool consolidations, or platform migrations.
• Experience in implementing data governance, security, and compliance frameworks, particularly regarding PII handling and deletion/DSR workflows across various destinations.
• Experience in defining architecture standards that are adopted across a team or organization and enforcing them through automation.
• Cost-conscious management of infrastructure and vendor expenditures.
• Demonstrated ability to influence architecture decisions across teams and organizations.
• Familiarity with tools such as Amplitude, Eppo, Harness, AppsFlyer, and Braze.
• Preferred: experience with semantic and metrics layers using dbt or similar tools.
• Preferred: experience with data cataloging/governance tools and metadata stewardship programs.
• Preferred: experience in fast-paced experimentation environments.
• Preferred: advanced SQL skills and experience.
• Preferred: experience in consumer-facing subscription application settings.
• Preferred: experience in making governed data securely accessible to AI assistants and agents.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States, as indicated by the Remote - US location and MyFitnessPal's E-Verify participation.
