Senior Business Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with business and operational teams to gain insights into processes, identify deficiencies, and articulate business requirements.

• Evaluate operational challenges and propose solution strategies.

• Ascertain whether needs are best met through process enhancements, technological solutions, data architecture, reporting capabilities, or workflow automation.

• Rank initiatives based on business impact, risk, complexity, and resource needs.

• Establish success metrics and anticipated outcomes.

• Design, configure, develop, test, implement, and sustain business solutions.

• Create prototypes and transform approved concepts into production-ready implementations.

• Generate and maintain both technical and functional documentation.

• Oversee solutions throughout their lifecycle, including upgrades and problem resolution.

• Guarantee that solutions comply with security, supportability, and governance standards.

• Develop workflows, forms, routing processes, approval mechanisms, and case management solutions.

• Construct integrations among systems, applications, and data sources utilizing APIs, connectors, and scripting tools.

• Design data models, validation controls, and information architectures.

• Set forth standards, templates, and reusable components.

• Assist in user testing, implementation, training, and change management efforts.

• Provide production support and address issues as they arise.

• Monitor solution performance and suggest enhancements.

• Evaluate and report on operational results and business value.

• Communicate project progress, risks, issues, and outcomes to stakeholders.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with business unit leaders as an individual contributor.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Analytics, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline; or a comparable combination of education and experience.

• A minimum of six (6) years of experience in business systems, solution development, business process enhancement, application development, data management, or a related field.

• Proven experience in designing, developing, implementing, and supporting business applications, workflows, databases, or operational solutions.

• Proficient in gathering requirements and delivering solutions from initial concept through to production support.

• Familiarity with workflow, automation, or low-code platforms such as ServiceNow, Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint, Salesforce, or similar technologies.

• Experience with SQL, relational databases, APIs, integrations, testing, and production support.

• Knowledge of business intelligence and reporting tools such as Power BI.

• Experience in the healthcare sector or other regulated environments.

• Background in supporting claims, payment integrity, provider operations, member operations, or clinical functions.

• Skills in business process analysis and requirements gathering.

• Competency in solution design, application development, and workflow automation.

• Familiarity with data modeling and database principles.

• Experience in systems integration and API development.

• Understanding of security, access management, change control, and data governance practices.

• Capability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
