Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee and manage Windows and Linux operating systems along with the supporting infrastructure.

• Install, configure, test, and sustain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.

• Ensure high levels of system and infrastructure uptime through proactive monitoring and maintenance efforts.

• Monitor application performance, pinpoint bottlenecks, and collaborate with development teams to implement effective solutions.

• Maintain security measures, backup solutions, and redundancy strategies, including NetBackup.

• Develop and maintain scripts to enhance operational efficiency and minimize manual intervention.

• Contribute to the design and improvement of information and operational support systems.

• Provide 2nd and 3rd line technical support for issues related to infrastructure.

• Work in partnership with vendors and internal IT teams to resolve technical challenges and enhance service delivery.


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in network administration-level roles.

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

• Demonstrated experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting both Windows and Linux environments.

• Strong experience in administering EMC and major SAN solutions.

• Familiarity with VMware/ESX administration and configuration.

• Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies, such as Docker.

• Proficiency with monitoring tools, including Zabbix and Nagios.

• Experience with automation platforms like SaltStack and Puppet.

• Comprehensive understanding of infrastructure availability, performance monitoring, and best practices in systems administration.

• Must currently hold or be able to obtain SC/NPPV3 clearance.

• Experience in Telecommunications, Technology, or complex B2B services environments is a plus.
