Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Provide support for Linux servers, storage, enterprise infrastructure, as well as on-premises and cloud environments.

• Manage and resolve issues related to networks, storage, servers, applications, and systems.

• Offer support for Axway Managed File Transfer / Secure Transport and associated environments.

• Facilitate secure, application-agnostic bulk file and data transfer solutions across diverse systems and external partners.

• Assist with activities related to Symantec DLP and SPE.

• Coordinate tasks with internal teams, clients, and third-party vendors; monitor work items and ensure completion.

• Develop technical documentation, procedures, runbooks, instructions, and support materials.

• Conduct training for support staff and users as necessary.

• Aid in short-term and long-term planning, proactive issue prevention, market analysis, preliminary cost estimation, modernization, alternative solution evaluation, and migration planning.

• Ensure continuity and provide technical support coverage when technical leadership is not available.

⛳️ Requirements

• Mid to senior-level experience as a Systems / Enterprise Engineer.

• Proficiency in deploying, supporting, and managing Rocky Linux 8.9 and 9.x.

• Experience in supporting Windows OS 2022.

• Over 5 years of experience in Linux administration and enterprise servers, networks, and systems.

• More than 3 years of experience in cloud environments.

• Working knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Terraform, GitLab, ARM, AWF, ACM, EFS, and Transit Gateway.

• Understanding of cloud networking concepts, including VPC, Availability Zones, Security Groups, ALB, and NLB.

• Experience in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.

• Familiarity with AWS security best practices and practical experience with AWS CLI and Management Console.

• Knowledge of Amazon RDS, AWS Aurora PostgreSQL, AWS MySQL, and RDS on Oracle.

• Over 5 years of experience with managed file transfer solutions and enterprise bulk file/data transfer protocols.

• Understanding of SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, and SSL.

• Experience with Axway Secure Transport's setup, configuration, troubleshooting, and authentication integrations with LDAP, AD, Okta, and two-factor authentication.

• Awareness of SSL/TLS encryption, certificate management, and Axway Sentinel.

• More than 5 years of knowledge regarding cybersecurity tools and practices.

• Familiarity with data encryption methods for data in use, at rest, and in motion.

• Acquainted with Okta and Netskope for remote access.

• Basic scripting abilities in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

• Familiarity with version control systems like Git/Maintainer.

• Basic troubleshooting skills for system and network issues.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or AWS CodePipeline.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, documentation, organization, planning, coordination, and customer support skills.

• Ability to work independently, manage multiple streams of work, and address enterprise mission needs.
