This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Configure, sustain, monitor, and troubleshoot mission systems hosted in the cloud, along with associated services across SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS environments.
• Install and upgrade software as needed.
• Manage user accounts, access controls, and sanctioned system configurations.
• Execute change and patch management, emergency fixes, security updates, and vulnerability remediation within stipulated timelines.
• Monitor system health, logs, usage, and performance metrics.
• Investigate incidents and coordinate corrective measures with Government personnel.
• Provision and scale cloud resources to accommodate surges in demand and traffic spikes while optimizing resource utilization.
• Maintain and verify backup and recovery procedures.
• Support operational continuity and data protection initiatives.
• Document system configurations and establish baselines.
• Ensure software approvals are in compliance with the DHS Technology Reference Model process.
• Assist with Authority to Operate artifacts, conduct monthly system scans, vulnerability reporting, and configuration management quality assurance.
• Maintain standard operating procedures, concepts of operations, maintenance logs, and utilization reports.
• Provide accurate equipment information for monthly asset reporting.
• Coordinate service-level expectations, alerting and advisory processes, incident response, and Tier 1 knowledge transfer with the CISA Technology Operations Center.
• Support approved changes outside of regular hours.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant systems administration experience, including work with cloud-hosted mission systems or application infrastructure.
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience in configuring, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting cloud-hosted systems, operating systems, and application services.
• Proficiency in account administration, access controls, patching, log analysis, backup and recovery, and configuration management.
• Working knowledge of automation or scripting, cloud provisioning, resource scaling, security monitoring, and vulnerability remediation.
• Ability to document operational procedures and coordinate technical incidents, changes, and alerts with Government operations and security teams.
• Must successfully complete the required DHS/CISA background investigation.
• Must obtain and maintain a favorable DHS suitability/fitness determination (Public Trust).
• Must maintain necessary system access.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must meet required Government background investigation, system access, nondisclosure, and sensitive-information protection criteria.
• A relevant cloud administration certification or RHCSA certification pertinent to the supported environment is preferred.
