This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Plan, develop, install, configure, maintain, support, and optimize network software and communication links.
• Organize and oversee the configuration and operation of information management systems.
• Analyze and address end-user software and connectivity challenges.
• Conduct capacity and performance assessments, recommending changes and upgrades to system configurations.
• Enhance system administrator productivity through the use of automated tools and scripts.
• Create system administrator procedures and facilitate training and skills evaluations.
• Offer recommendations on technological direction that aligns with the business vision.
• Provide local and remote maintenance support for operational systems across multiple locations.
• Guide other system administrators in daily system administration, optimization, and user assistance.
• Utilize advanced application networking expertise, including load balancing and fault tolerance.
• Carry out vulnerability management tasks.
• Install, configure, operate, and maintain servers, storage solutions, and peripherals.
• Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and VMware environments.
• Apply and validate Department of Defense (DoD) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
• Implement and manage security controls, patching, and vulnerability remediation efforts.
• Participate in Risk Management Framework (RMF) documentation and accreditation processes.
• Monitor security threats and risks and manage firewall configurations.
• Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), documentation, and network diagrams.
• Automate routine tasks utilizing PowerShell, Python, or Ansible.
• Create and maintain operating system images for deployment purposes.
• Provide advanced Tier 2/3 technical support and resolve complex incidents.
• Monitor system performance, oversee backups, and manage disaster recovery processes.
• Escalate issues and furnish detailed reports for critical outages.
• Provide end-user training as necessary.
• Plan for future hardware/software requirements and long-term system needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage with military and civilian stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a technical discipline.
• A minimum of 10 years of specialized experience in Information Processing.
• At least four years of focused, hands-on experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting various software.
• Experience in system administration within Windows Server and Red Hat Linux environments.
• Proficient in Active Directory (AD), DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy (GPO) administration.
• Experience managing VMware virtualization environments.
• Application and validation of DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
• Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) documentation and compliance.
• Proficient in scripting with PowerShell, Python, or Ansible.
• Experience with system monitoring tools such as System Center Operations Manager (SCOM).
• Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery procedures.
• Experience in security patching and vulnerability remediation.
• Knowledge in firewall management and security controls.
• Skills in network configuration and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Internet Information Services (IIS) administration.
• Proficient in hardware and software installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Experience with load balancing applications and ensuring fault tolerance.
• DoD Approved 8570/8140 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level II.
• Application Administrator certification in one or more of the following: current CompTIA certification, current Microsoft Azure certification, IBM MQ certification, or Windows Web Server IIS certification.
• US citizenship is required.
