System Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Conduct research, testing, evaluation, design, implementation, marketing, training, and support for enterprise solutions.

• Develop large-scale solutions and design systems that are highly scalable and distributed.

• Integrate vendor and open-source tools across various hosting providers.

• Create secure and resilient enterprise systems and tools that include auditing, security, alerting, high availability, and tuning.

• Construct multi-platform systems that support new customer services.

• Utilize technologies to address business challenges and create innovative solutions.

• Architect and develop critical components of system solutions.

• Enhance existing services through automation and scripting leveraging DevOps skills.

• Make informed hardware and software design decisions, prioritizing tasks based on value and customer feedback.

• Implement solutions either on-premises or in the cloud, collaborating closely with customers.

• Create prototypes, proofs of concept, and deployment strategies alongside other teams.

• Utilize best practices in continuous integration and delivery.

• Organize action plans to guide teams toward achieving goals.

• Serve as a subject matter expert for OS platform service offerings.

• Participate in on-call support for core services.

• Manage knowledge sharing, training, documentation, and showcase sessions.

• Optimize solutions to enhance performance and user experience.

• Present solutions and recommendations to both business and technical stakeholders.

• Foster relationships with customers and MITS teams.

• Keep updated with technological advancements and implement solutions in cloud computing environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.

• At least 6 years of experience in systems engineering.

• Strong experience with server systems, specifically in Microsoft server products and services.

• Exceptional complex problem-solving abilities.

• Capability to collaborate effectively to add value to a team.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong project management and coordination skills.

• Strong focus on customer experience.

• Availability for after-hours on-call support, as necessary.

• Required experience in infrastructure scripting.

• PowerShell experience is preferred.

• Required experience with Cloud Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

• Terraform experience is preferred.

• Preferred experience in web services management, including load balancing, encryption, and security.

• Preferred experience with cloud-native infrastructure.

• Must possess authorization to work permanently in the U.S.; sponsorship is not available.
