SVP, Insurance Actuarial Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the actuarial model library encompassing D&O, Cyber, General Liability, Professional Liability, Property, and Employee Benefits.

• Convert actuarial model outputs into polished client deliverables and executive presentations.

• Implement validated models through the SDLC in collaboration with data and application engineering teams.

• Uphold quality and audit standards for all actuarial analytics outputs.

• Design, construct, and validate actuarial and statistical models utilizing Python.

• Build and nurture a team of actuarial professionals while actively engaging in model development.

• Create reusable analytics solutions and narratives suitable for board presentations.

• Collaborate with solution engineering on the deployment of governed platforms and manage transitions from development to production.

• Oversee and guide both onshore and offshore vendor resources.

• Partner on architectural decisions impacting client-facing actuarial outputs.

• Engage with practice leaders and client executives to integrate deliverables into workflows for new and renewal business.

• Maintain comprehensive model documentation, validation records, and audit standards.

• Contribute to the analytics roadmap by pinpointing data-driven opportunities across various business lines.


⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in actuarial roles.

• Minimum of 3 years in commercial-lines brokerage, carrier, or consulting settings.

• A Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a closely related quantitative field is required.

• Proficiency in production-level Python for actuarial modeling, statistical analysis, and data manipulation.

• Familiarity with version control, testing, documentation, and engineering processes for model deployment.

• Comfortable working with large datasets related to policies, claims, and exposures.

• Working knowledge of platforms such as Databricks, Azure, or similar technologies.

• Demonstrated ability to create executive-level presentations and simplify complex actuarial concepts into understandable business narratives.

• Proven experience in developing actuarial models using Python.

• Knowledge of commercial lines insurance across D&O, Cyber, GL, PL, Property, and Employee Benefits.

• Familiarity with benchmarking, limit adequacy analysis, and TCOR modeling.

• Capacity to collaborate within a matrixed organization involving brokers, practice leaders, client executives, actuarial teams, and technical divisions.

• FCAS or ACAS designation preferred.

• Previous experience in a brokerage analytics context is advantageous.
