This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +9 more states.
• Execute internal loss reserving to monitor and evaluate trends, ensuring financial stability and precise forecasting.
• Conduct thorough pricing analysis utilizing advanced actuarial methodologies.
• Enhance rate-level assessments and rating-variable evaluations.
• Innovate indication methodologies and optimize process automation.
• Assist in developing sophisticated actuarial models through predictive modeling and statistical analysis.
• Aid in decision-making under the guidance of actuarial management and product managers.
• Collaborate with business partners on product decisions and assess their implications.
• Prepare regulatory filings that align with company goals and compliance requirements.
• Offer insights on the annual forecast while communicating emerging trends and potential risks.
• Research and evaluate actuarial issues and trends.
• Provide consultation on advanced mathematics, statistics, and modeling requirements.
• Exhibit behaviors that align with PEMCO policies, values, ethics, and business conduct.
• Support the PEMCO brand and assist in attracting top talent.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Must reside and work from one of the following states: WA, OR, ID, OH, IL, TX, MN, NC, SC, or FL.
• A B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent work experience in Mathematics or a related field is mandatory.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in property casualty actuarial work, with a focus on rate-making and a comprehensive understanding of personal lines.
• Strong technical skills and experience in programming are essential.
• An Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) designation is required.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness is necessary.
• Ability to analyze, diagnose, and effectively resolve complex unstructured problems quickly and collaboratively.
• Proficient in MS Office; expertise in Excel is required.
• Knowledge of Mathematics, Statistics, and Modeling is expected.
• Strong skills in software applications and predictive modeling.
• Proficient in Python, R, SAS, and/or SQL.
• Experience with Radar, Emblem, or ResQ is a plus.
• Capability to work with diverse datasets, integrate external vendor data, and develop efficient, scalable infrastructure and data models.
• Comprehensive understanding of the insurance industry, business landscape, growth trends, and insurance environments.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to the headquarters in Seattle, WA.
