Supply Chain Lead

📋 Description

• Formulate and implement supply chain strategies that align with program, manufacturing, and production goals.

• Oversee sourcing, procurement, supplier management, and activities aimed at mitigating supply chain risks.

• Assist in production readiness initiatives and guarantee material availability to fulfill program timelines and customer obligations.

• Track supply chain KPIs, supplier performance indicators, and inventory efficiency.

• Discover and enact process enhancements to boost supply chain efficiency, responsiveness, and operational effectiveness.

• Foster collaboration across various functions to facilitate program execution and achieve long-term supply chain excellence.

• Conduct make-versus-buy assessments for components, assemblies, tooling, and manufacturing methods.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, and Program Management teams to assess cost, quality, capacity, schedule, and risk factors.

• Create business cases and recommendations that support strategic sourcing decisions.

• Evaluate internal manufacturing capabilities against external supplier solutions.

• Drive sourcing strategies that optimize cost, quality, delivery performance, and scalability.

• Identify, assess, and qualify new suppliers.

• Execute supplier capability evaluations, qualification assessments, audits, and onboarding processes.

• Build and sustain strategic relationships with suppliers.

• Work alongside suppliers to enhance quality, delivery, capacity, and cost performance.

• Support suppliers with corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Ensure suppliers adhere to aerospace industry standards, customer requirements, and quality expectations.

• Establish supplier scorecards and performance evaluation systems.

• Monitor supplier KPIs including On-Time Delivery, quality performance, responsiveness, capacity management, and cost competitiveness.

• Lead supplier business reviews and initiatives for performance enhancement.

• Develop supplier risk evaluations and mitigation strategies.

• Identify and address supply chain risks through proactive planning and supplier diversification.

• Propel continuous improvement programs that enhance supplier reliability and operational performance.

• Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing teams on New Product Introduction and production ramp-up efforts.

• Collaborate with Quality teams to ensure supplier compliance with aerospace standards and customer specifications.

• Assist Program Management in meeting schedule commitments and achieving supply chain readiness goals.

• Communicate supplier performance metrics, sourcing strategies, and risk mitigation plans to leadership.

• Work collaboratively across Operations, Production, Quality, and Engineering to resolve supply chain challenges and enhance execution.

• Support strategic initiatives aimed at improving organizational capability and supply chain resilience.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.

• An equivalent combination of education and substantial supply chain experience may be considered.

• Over 10 years of experience in supply chain, sourcing, procurement, supplier management, or related fields.

• Experience in aerospace, aviation, defense, or highly regulated manufacturing environments is preferred.

• Proven experience conducting make-versus-buy analyses and strategic sourcing assessments.

• Familiarity with identifying, qualifying, onboarding, and developing suppliers.

• Strong grasp of aerospace supply chain requirements, supplier quality expectations, and production support processes.

• Experience in managing supplier performance and driving continuous improvement efforts.

• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

• Outstanding communication, leadership, and stakeholder management capabilities.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional manufacturing environment.

• Direct experience with aerospace OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, or aerospace manufacturing is essential.

• Knowledge of Airbus programs, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), or cutting-edge aerospace technologies.

• Existing awareness of the aerospace and manufacturing supplier networks in the Pacific Northwest.

• Experience in sourcing composites, machined components, electronics, avionics, or aerospace assemblies.

• APICS/ASCM, CPSM, CSCP, or other relevant supply chain certifications are desirable.

• Experience in conducting supplier audits and managing qualification processes.

• Knowledge of AS9100 quality systems and aerospace regulatory requirements.

• Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and production ramp-up initiatives.

• Familiarity with ERP, MRP, or enterprise supply chain management systems.

• Ability to gain access to information subject to U.S. export control regulations; access may be restricted to U.S. Persons, including U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, and individuals granted refugee or asylee status.
