This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and cultivate a team of material planners dedicated to supply planning, inventory management, and ensuring product availability.
• Provide guidance, coaching, performance evaluations, and growth opportunities for team members.
• Establish planning expectations, operational rhythms, and accountability within the material planning function.
• Supervise the analysis of forecast projections, demand fluctuations, inventory needs, and product delivery metrics.
• Ensure inventory levels meet customer demand while minimizing backorders, surplus inventory, obsolescence, and scrap risks.
• Propel enhancements in forecast accuracy, inventory health, service levels, and planning execution.
• Review supply and inventory data to pinpoint risks, trends, constraints, and opportunities.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to address shortages, capacity issues, supplier challenges, and other supply disruptions.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Operations, Manufacturing, Finance, Commercial, Quality, and other departments to align supply plans with business objectives.
• Foster and maintain relationships with suppliers, distributors, and other external partners.
• Assist in supplier performance discussions to enhance supply continuity and reliability.
• Develop and enhance standardized supply chain processes, tools, and performance metrics.
• Strengthen planning and inventory management capabilities within the Animal Safety organization.
• Monitor key supply chain metrics and leverage data to inform decisions and corrective actions.
• Support new product launches, product transitions, discontinuations, and lifecycle planning.
• Lead or assist in supply chain improvement initiatives focused on planning, inventory optimization, customer service, cost, and operational efficiency.
• Identify supply chain risks and implement strategies for mitigation.
• Enhance communication and visibility across planning, procurement, operations, and commercial teams.
• Provide leadership insights concerning inventory, supply risks, service performance, and planning priorities.
• Promote accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer-centric focus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Logistics, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Over 5 years of progressive experience in supply chain, material planning, demand planning, inventory management, procurement, or a related area.
• At least 2 years of experience in people leadership or direct team management.
• Proven experience in leading material planning, supply planning, inventory management, or similar supply chain activities.
• Proficient in analyzing demand, forecasts, inventory, and supply data to inform business decisions.
• Experience in cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Procurement, Finance, Manufacturing, Commercial, or related teams.
• Skilled in identifying and resolving supply chain risks, shortages, inventory challenges, or planning constraints.
• Familiarity with ERP, MRP, planning, or inventory management systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Preferred: Experience in animal health, life sciences, food safety, manufacturing, consumer products, or another product-oriented industry.
• Preferred: Experience in leading material planners, demand planners, buyers, or other supply chain professionals.
• Preferred: Background in supplier management and supply continuity planning.
• Preferred: Knowledge in inventory optimization, working capital improvement, or obsolescence reduction.
• Preferred: Experience in supporting new product introductions and product lifecycle management.
• Preferred: Experience in developing or standardizing supply chain processes within a dynamic organization.
• Preferred: Proven track record of leading continuous improvement or operational excellence initiatives.
• Preferred: Familiarity with advanced planning, forecasting, reporting, or analytics tools.
• Preferred: Experience in managing supply chain KPIs and performance metrics.
• Strong people leadership and team development capabilities.
