
Supplier Quality Manager – Glass, Hardware

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Lead initiatives to coach suppliers in enhancing quality processes, preventing defects, and optimizing performance.
• Design and execute training programs for suppliers focused on quality control techniques, 8D problem-solving, and root cause analysis.
• Provide practical coaching regarding material and component specifications.
• Mentor and advise suppliers on process enhancements and compliance efforts.
• Create and implement corrective and preventive action plans in collaboration with suppliers.
• Conduct audits of suppliers and provide follow-up coaching as necessary.
• Develop and execute supplier development roadmaps, monitoring progress towards achieving zero defects.
• Partner with Strategic Sourcing to identify, vet, and onboard new suppliers.
• Assist in innovation and improvement initiatives with suppliers aimed at cost reduction and process efficiency.
• Support new product introductions and the qualification of materials/components.
• Advocate for continuous improvement and ensure suppliers are held accountable for maintaining quality standards.
• Oversee supplier quality across diverse materials and manufacturing processes as product categories evolve.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Discipline, or a similar field.
• Six Sigma Black Belt certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in roles related to supplier quality or manufacturing quality.
• Strong background in training, coaching, and mentoring suppliers effectively.
• Ability to analyze supplier performance data and spearhead improvement strategies.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to influence and educate suppliers.
• Willingness to travel domestically, with a frequency of 25% to 50% required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, quality management systems, and supplier management software.
• Solid understanding of window hardware components such as hinges, locks, handles, and sealing systems.
• Experience in glass manufacturing processes, including tempering, coating, insulating, and structural glazing.
• Familiarity with quality standards related to glass thickness, coatings, durability, and optical clarity.
• Expertise in thermal performance and energy efficiency involving window glass and hardware integration.
• Ability to evaluate and enhance supplier quality for window components, ensuring material consistency and reducing defects.
• Knowledge of AAMA and NFRC regulations concerning compliance in residential glass applications.
