Supplier FSQA Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Oversee supplier approval, qualification, and requalification processes for spices, seasonings, herbs, dehydrated ingredients, and flavor systems.

• Assess supplier food safety protocols, quality management systems, regulatory compliance, and operational capabilities.

• Conduct risk-based evaluations of suppliers and establish risk ratings.

• Review supplier documentation and assist in the onboarding of new suppliers and ingredients in TraceGains.

• Execute supplier audits and evaluations at manufacturing facilities both domestically and internationally.

• Generate audit reports and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).

• Track the effectiveness and resolution of supplier corrective actions.

• Collaborate with Procurement on supplier performance issues and risk mitigation strategies.

• Create and maintain supplier scorecards and key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Analyze supplier performance trends regarding audit findings, complaints, non-conformances, and CAPA effectiveness.

• Propel continuous improvement initiatives alongside strategic suppliers.

• Lead supplier business reviews with cross-functional teams.

• Work in partnership with Procurement, Operations, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, and Commercial teams to ensure supplier compliance and business continuity.

• Assist with project and product commercialization activities within the Spice/Seasonings Business Unit.

• Offer supplier quality expertise during investigations, recalls, withdrawals, and supplier-related incidents.

• Engage in crisis management and supply chain risk mitigation initiatives.

• Support both internal and external audit processes.

• Uphold supplier quality procedures, policies, and standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Engineering, Agricultural Sciences, or a related scientific/technical field.

• At least 7 years of experience in food manufacturing.

• 5 years of experience in supplier quality, food safety, and/or supply chain management.

• Proven experience in auditing food manufacturing facilities.

• Experience in managing supplier corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time.

• Preferred: experience in the spice, seasoning, herb, flavor, botanical, or agricultural ingredient sectors.

• Preferred: Lead Auditor certification.

• Preferred: PCQI certification.

• Preferred: experience with global sourcing and international supplier networks.

• Preferred: knowledge of food fraud, food defense, and ingredient authenticity programs.

• Preferred: experience working with contract manufacturers and co-manufacturers.
