This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Lead and develop a team of engineers and designers specializing in substations.
• Engage in projects related to transmission, distribution, renewable energy, and grid modernization.
• Establish strong relationships with utility companies, renewable energy providers, and industrial clients.
• Facilitate substation project execution from the planning and design phases through to construction support.
• Offer technical oversight and ensure quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC).
• Collaborate with regional leadership to expand the business and pinpoint new opportunities.
• Promote technical excellence, quality, safety, and innovation throughout projects.
• Oversee recruitment, career advancement, and team engagement initiatives.
• Work in partnership with multidisciplinary teams throughout AECOM's Energy practice.
• Execute projects that enhance the electric grid.
• Increase AECOM's footprint in the energy and power sectors.
• Develop innovative solutions that facilitate the energy transition.
• Bachelor's degree and 12 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of leadership or practice-building experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
• Extensive experience in substation engineering is preferred.
• Previous experience in managing projects, clients, and technical teams is preferred.
• PE license in multiple states is preferred.
• Visa sponsorship for U.S. employment authorization is not available now or in the future.
• Attendance at an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office is required.
