Senior Engineering Manager – Core Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Lead, expand, and cultivate a team of over 10 engineers across infrastructure, Payments, Data, Developer Experience, and L3 engineering.

• Take ownership of the technical roadmap for the Core Platform in collaboration with engineering leadership and Product.

• Foster reliability and operational excellence by establishing SLOs, promoting a culture of incident response, and enhancing postmortem processes.

• Enhance CI/CD, local development, observability tools, and deployment methodologies.

• Manage the billing and payments infrastructure in conjunction with the Payments team.

• Recruit, mentor, and retain senior engineers.

• Develop a team that establishes the organization's technical benchmarks.

• Convert business limitations into platform capabilities across Finance, Product, and Engineering.

• Deliver foundational features that facilitate product expansion.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of software engineering experience, with significant involvement in platform, infrastructure, or foundational systems.

• At least 3 years of experience in leading engineering teams.

• Proficiency in business Spanish and English.

• Strong background as an individual contributor, including experience in staff or senior engineering roles.

• Proven experience leading teams of 8 or more engineers in a distributed setting.

• Ability to review architecture, engage in design conversations, and critically assess technical decisions.

• Experience with reliability at scale, encompassing SLOs, on-call culture, incident management, and postmortem analysis.

• Understanding of platform investment economics and the ability to balance long-term sustainability with short-term delivery.

• Excellent communication skills and capability to work asynchronously.

• Strong written and spoken English skills.

• Active utilization of AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Experience in developing AI-powered tools or agents that have been deployed to production.
