This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Lead and expand a team of engineers and designers specializing in substations.
• Guide, mentor, and foster the development of team members.
• Establish relationships with clients in the utility, renewable energy, and industrial sectors.
• Support the delivery of substation projects from the planning and design phase through to construction assistance.
• Provide technical oversight and ensure quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC).
• Collaborate with regional leadership to enhance business growth and identify new opportunities.
• Promote technical excellence, quality, safety, and innovation throughout projects.
• Oversee recruitment, career progression, and team engagement initiatives.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams within AECOM's Energy division.
• Manage the delivery of projects related to transmission, distribution, renewable energy, and grid modernization.
• Expand the substation team and enhance AECOM's footprint in the energy and power sectors.
• Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) and a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience.
• A minimum of 4 years in a leadership or practice-building role, or equivalent experience/education.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
• Extensive background in substation engineering.
• Experience in managing projects, clients, and technical teams.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Strong commitment to quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
• Preference for PE licensure in multiple states.
• Visa sponsorship for U.S. employment authorization is currently unavailable and will not be provided in the future.
• Attendance required for in-person onboarding on Day 1 at an AECOM office location.
