Substation Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee and develop a team of engineers and designers specializing in substations.

• Guide, mentor, and enhance the capabilities of the substation engineering group.

• Establish and nurture relationships with utility companies, renewable energy sectors, and industrial clients.

• Facilitate the delivery of substation projects from the initial planning and design stages through to construction support.

• Ensure technical oversight and implement quality assurance and control measures.

• Collaborate with regional leadership to expand the business and pinpoint new opportunities.

• Promote technical excellence, uphold quality, ensure safety, and encourage innovation in all projects.

• Spearhead recruitment efforts, career development initiatives, and team engagement programs.

• Work in conjunction with multidisciplinary teams within AECOM's Energy division.

• Execute transmission, distribution, renewable energy, and grid modernization projects throughout North and South America.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of pertinent experience.

• Minimum of 4 years in a leadership role or in a capacity that builds practice, or an equivalent level of experience/education.

• Must possess Professional Engineer (PE) certification.

• U.S. citizenship is required.

• Significant experience in substation engineering.

• Proven track record in managing projects, clients, and technical teams.

• PE certification in multiple states is preferred.

• Visa sponsorship for U.S. employment authorization is not available.
