Substation Drafter – Physical, Protection & Controls

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create substation design packages for clients throughout the United States.

• Assist in the preparation and development of drawing packages for electric substation projects, providing guidance as needed.

• Engage in projects that vary from minor distribution equipment enhancements to extensive transmission initiatives.

• Manage various assignments and competing priorities to deliver precise products within deadlines.

• Collaborate within cross-functional project teams that include drafters, engineers, and designers.

• Support teams of designers and drafters, taking responsibility for their success on projects.

• Conduct quality reviews and peer checks as directed.

• Undertake other assignments related to substation design as necessary.

• Successfully operate in a remote working environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma required.

• Drafter I: Requires 0+ years of relevant experience.

• Drafter II: Requires 5+ years of relevant experience.

• Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design Software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar tools.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products.

• Strong problem-solving abilities.

• Knowledge of drafting standards, techniques, and procedures, including handling raster drawings.

• Capable of completing projects under the direct supervision of senior staff.

• Ability to meet deadlines and adhere to budget constraints.

• Foundational knowledge of primary CAD/BIM software including AutoCAD, ACADE, and/or MicroStation.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.

• Proficient in working with team members located remotely.

• Must be able to pass a post-offer drug (including marijuana) and alcohol test in accordance with Federal regulations.

• Subject to random testing as a condition of ongoing employment.
