Substation Automation Systems Engineer – all genders

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Manage tenders from transmission system operators related to secondary systems for extra-high-voltage substations.

• Strategize and incorporate modern control systems within intricate substation environments.

• Create SAS architectures in alignment with IEC 61850, which includes GOOSE and MMS communication protocols.

• Configure HMI interfaces alongside fiber-optic and Ethernet communication networks.

• Oversee interfaces with protection systems, control centers of transmission system operators, suppliers, and subcontractors.

• Formulate communication matrices, system descriptions, and technical specifications.

• Prepare testing protocols and organize and execute FAT/SAT.

• Evaluate technical requirements from transmission system operators and convert them into effective system solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

• Background in control systems, Substation Automation Systems (SAS), or secondary systems.

• Expertise in Siemens SICAM PAS/PQS, Spectrum Power, ABB MicroSCADA, or GE Grid Solutions.

• Comprehensive understanding of IEC 61850 (GOOSE, MMS, SV), Modbus, DNP3, or PROFINET.

• Familiarity with HMI/SCADA systems such as WinCC, zenon, or Ignition.

• Knowledge of Wireshark or Cisco Packet Tracer, as well as fiber-optic and Ethernet networks.

• Fundamental awareness of cybersecurity in accordance with IEC 62351 and ISO 27001.

• Experience in configuring firewalls, such as Cisco or Fortinet.

• Proficient in both German and English.
