Subject Matter Expert – Radar Systems Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Evaluate plans and reports to ensure that system and software operations align with requirements and design specifications.

• Conduct system-level analyses to pinpoint performance issues and identify optimization opportunities.

• Carry out comprehensive performance analyses and suggest enhancements in architecture or algorithms.

• Convert technical requirements into test cases for both live-fire and simulation settings.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional engineering teams to enhance system performance and reliability.

• Assist in troubleshooting efforts across distributed systems and infrastructure.

• Support planning and engineering tasks to ensure program deadlines are met.

• Provide strategic technical guidance and oversight during weekly Integrated Product Team meetings with vendors.

• Offer advice on technical agenda items in weekly Test Planning meetings with the project office.

• Act as the technical authority during Technical Interchange Meetings with vendors.

• Engage in engineering and record testing at Army test facilities, including potentially the Yuma Proving Grounds and White Sands Missile Range.

• Deliver real-time technical evaluations and make on-site decisions during testing.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Over 15 years of progressively complex software engineering experience.

• Established history of designing and deploying intricate radar/sensor systems.

• Acknowledged expertise throughout the entire system lifecycle.

• Capability to communicate directly with senior leadership and influence technical roadmaps of vendors.

• Extensive experience in supporting large-scale system testing, validation, and verification in rugged Army environments.

• Must currently hold a DoW SECRET clearance.

• Successful completion of a thorough background check.

• Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
