This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Providing practical training in the fundamentals of 3D scanning, emphasizing mechanical engineering.
• Addressing the complete Scan-to-CAD workflow, encompassing 3D scanning, point clouds, meshes, reverse engineering, CAD models, technical drawings, and manufacturing processes.
• Overseeing project initiatives related to real-world components.
• Integrating contemporary technologies and industry case studies into the curriculum.
• Assisting participants in confidently applying their skills in practical scenarios, including in a virtual classroom setting.
• A technical background, ideally in mechanical engineering, design engineering, product development, manufacturing, metrology, 3D digitization, or a similar technical discipline.
• Hands-on experience with 3D scanning or the processing of 3D scan data.
• Fundamental knowledge of various 3D scanning technologies and their applications.
• Familiarity with point clouds and/or mesh data.
• Basic understanding of scan data preparation and subsequent processing.
• A foundational knowledge of at least one widely-used CAD software.
• Comprehension of how to integrate scan data into technical design or development workflows.
• Ability to convey technical information clearly and practically.
• Eagerness to learn about specific curriculum topics using the provided training materials.
• Awareness of basic scanning workflows, typical error sources, data exchange formats, and industrial applications.
• Basic skills in cleaning, filtering, and aligning scan data, as well as creating and modifying meshes.
• Basic understanding of reverse engineering and the Scan-to-CAD process.
• Capability to evaluate the quality and usability of scan data at a fundamental level.
• Basic knowledge of employing 3D scanning in design engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, or product development.
• Ability to demonstrate a basic scanning workflow in practical settings.
• Nice to have: Professional experience in design engineering, product development, metrology, or quality assurance.
• Nice to have: Experience with reverse engineering and Scan-to-CAD workflows.
• Nice to have: Familiarity with CAD systems like CATIA, Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar.
• Nice to have: Experience using professional 3D scanning software.
