Student Assistant, Consultancy Contract – CTC

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Curate and organize textual, visual, and metadata from 225 qualifying HØW submissions.

• Conduct literature reviews focusing on circular construction, taxonomies, archetypes, construction genome methodologies, and classification techniques.

• Assist in the development and documentation of the HØW-GENIUS codebook.

• Pilot and systematically implement the coding framework for selected HØW projects.

• Document any coding ambiguities and emerging categories.

• Support data cleansing, quality assurance, coding consistency checks, and preparation for quantitative analysis.

• Analyze clusters and develop archetypes for circular construction.

• Map features and archetypes to CARE Research Areas.

• Prepare clear and reproducible research documentation.

• Assist in creating figures, tables, supplementary materials, and references for a scientific publication.

• Prepare materials for CARE seminars, workshops, and academic exchanges.

• Help with the project policy brief and its dissemination through HØW and CARE channels.

• Maintain research files, datasets, coding records, references, and version control.

• Assist with the scheduling and preparation of meetings.

• Carry out other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be enrolled in a Master’s degree program at a recognized university in Architecture/Architectural Design, Civil or Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering/Building Science, Environmental Science/Sustainability Science, Urban Planning/Urban Studies, Circular Economy, or another relevant discipline.

• Professional-level proficiency in English is mandatory.

• Experience with structured datasets, qualitative content analysis, and/or data visualization is advantageous.

• Exceptional communication and writing abilities.

• Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.

• Professional and diligent demeanor.

• Capability to prioritize independently.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a multicultural, multi-ethnic environment, demonstrating sensitivity and respect for diversity.

• Knowledge of German is a plus.

• Familiarity with another UN official working language is a bonus.

• Must meet medical clearance, security clearance, BSAFE course, travel visa, and liability waiver requirements for mission travel.
