Structural Engineering Intern – PVEDI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.

📋 Description

• Assist in the preparation of structural calculations, models, drawings, details, reports, and other essential project documentation.

• Contribute to the analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry, timber, and associated structural systems.

• Engage in project meetings, conduct site visits, perform field observations, and facilitate coordination with design and construction teams.

• Acquire practical experience with structural materials, calculations, modeling tools, construction documents, field conditions, multidisciplinary coordination, and project delivery.

• Understand the application of structural engineering principles, load paths, materials, codes, and technical standards in real projects.

• Gain insight into the development and review process of calculations, models, drawings, details, and construction-phase documentation.

• Discover how structural engineers collaborate with architects, civil engineers, MEP professionals, geotechnical teams, contractors, and other project stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Completion of relevant coursework in statics, mechanics of materials, structural analysis, or design is required.

• Fundamental understanding of structural systems and engineering calculations is necessary.

• Basic proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or structural analysis software alongside Microsoft Office applications is expected.

• Previous internship, co-op, research, or project experience in structural engineering is preferred.

• Familiarity with RISA, RAM, Mathcad, or similar analysis and design software is advantageous.

• Participation in ASCE, SEI, or related engineering organizations is preferred.
