Structural Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more locations.

📋 Description

• Utilize structural engineering principles and project management expertise to execute project tasks from inception to completion.

• Collaborate with the structural team to accomplish assigned tasks.

• Interpret reinforced concrete design drawings and specifications effectively.

• Conduct quality control inspections and respond to client RFIs.

• Address construction challenges, particularly those related to reinforced concrete.

• Acquire knowledge of and adhere to company design protocols for wind turbine foundations, while also contributing to their enhancement.

• Act as the engineer of record for structural engineering design initiatives.

• Review or assign the review of project-related design documentation, including fabrication shop drawings.

• Employ finite element modeling for structural design; training will be provided as necessary.

• Evaluate design codes and implement relevant design standards.

• Conduct value engineering design analyses.

• Occasionally visit project sites to assess construction quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. (or M.E.) in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering.

• 3-8 years of experience in structural engineering design and/or project management; other experience levels will be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates.

• Professional Engineering (P.E.) registration in the United States is mandatory.

• Willingness to pursue licensure in additional states, as required.

• Familiarity with structural engineering codes in the United States, especially regarding reinforced concrete.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Capacity to lead a project team or collaborate effectively with clients.

• Capability to manage project tasks independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.

• Highly organized approach to managing detailed project information and prioritizing tasks.

• Interest in applying structural design codes such as IBC, ACI, ASCE 7, and AISC.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.

• Willingness to travel to project sites for short periods, typically one to two days per trip, multiple times per year across the U.S.

• Ability to walk on and inspect structural reinforcements.

• Must verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States upon hiring.
