Structural Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more locations.

📋 Description

• Utilize structural engineering principles and project management expertise to execute project tasks from inception to completion.

• Collaborate with the structural team to achieve project objectives.

• Interpret reinforced concrete design drawings and specifications effectively.

• Conduct quality control assessments and respond to client Requests for Information (RFIs).

• Address construction challenges, particularly those related to reinforced concrete.

• Acquire knowledge of and adhere to company design protocols for wind turbine foundations while contributing to their enhancement.

• Act as the engineer of record for structural engineering design assignments.

• Evaluate or assign the review of project-related design documentation, including fabrication shop drawings.

• Create structural models utilizing finite element modeling techniques for design purposes.

• Examine design codes and implement relevant standards accordingly.

• Perform value engineering design assessments.

• Occasionally visit project sites to assess construction quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or M.E.) in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering.

• 3 to 8 years of experience in structural engineering design and/or project management (Other experience levels may be considered for otherwise highly qualified candidates).

• Professional Engineering (P.E.) registration in the United States is mandatory.

• Willingness to pursue licensure in additional states as necessary.

• Familiarity with structural engineering codes in the United States, especially pertaining to reinforced concrete.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Capability to lead or participate in a project team and engage directly with clients.

• Competence to independently carry out project tasks and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.

• Highly organized to handle detailed project information and prioritize responsibilities effectively.

• Interest in employing structural design codes such as IBC, ACI, ASCE 7, and AISC.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.

• Willingness to travel to project sites across the U.S. for short durations, typically one to two days per trip, several times a year.

• Capability to walk on and inspect structural reinforcement.

• Ability to verify identity and work eligibility in the United States upon hire.
