Civil/Structural Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide engineering guidance and input for new capital projects to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

• Evaluate structural drawings and oversee the work of consultants and contractors.

• Assist in lifecycle planning and execution for facilities and infrastructure along the U.S. international borders.

• Assess engineering designs, proposed installations, existing systems, infrastructure, and facilities while offering recommendations.

• Support the planning, design review, and construction oversight of IST projects.

• Develop and prepare statements of work and cost estimates; review materials submitted by stakeholders.

• Collaborate with IST Portfolio staff, USBP, OFO, AMO, consultants, and contractors.

• Act as a program expert and representative on technical engineering and construction matters.

• Present, clarify, and advocate for technical issues to CBP, DHS, other government entities, and public organizations.

• Maintain and report on the status of assigned engineering tasks.

• Prepare and present reports, briefings, and communication materials related to engineering initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of relevant experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

• A current Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is preferred.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is advantageous.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

• Strong ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

• Capable of resolving problems efficiently.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen to obtain CBP BI and qualify for a U.S. Government security clearance.

• Applicants must fulfill eligibility criteria for a U.S. Government security clearance.
