This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Take ownership of the comprehensive go-to-market strategy for the Materials, Polymers & Chemicals sector.
• Stay updated on customer workflows, purchasing behaviors, regulatory and compliance standards, competitive landscape, and technology adoption trends.
• Implement a structured voice-of-customer program that engages current users, competitive users, and potential customers.
• Establish relationships with key opinion leaders, industry associations, regulatory agencies, and academic institutions.
• Conduct competitive intelligence analysis and translate findings into actionable competitive response strategies.
• Own, revise, and maintain the Market Requirements Document for the segment.
• Present MRD findings and recommendations to VP Product Line teams, VP Marketing, and the Senior Director.
• Ensure MRD inputs are integrated into at least one product-line roadmap planning cycle each year.
• Develop go-to-market strategies, customer profiles, channel priorities, campaign themes, value propositions, and commercial messaging for the segment.
• Create competitive battlecards, application guides, customer workflow maps, and sales playbooks.
• Collaborate with Portfolio Marketing on campaign content specific to the segment.
• Lead annual growth planning and identify growth initiatives, product-line actions, and commercial resources.
• Generate thought leadership materials, including white papers, application-note themes, conference presentations, and regulatory commentary.
• Represent PerkinElmer at conferences, trade shows, and customer advisory events.
• Contribute to customer advisory board programming and translate feedback into commercial and product management actions.
• Over 8 years of experience in product management, segment marketing, market intelligence, or applications science within analytical instrumentation, life sciences tools, or a closely related scientific or industrial technology sector.
• In-depth domain knowledge in the assigned segment, enabling credible engagement with customer scientists, interpretation of regulatory requirements, and identification of commercially significant technical advancements without specialist assistance.
• Proven experience in conducting structured voice-of-customer programs and translating customer insights into actionable product strategy inputs.
• Experience in creating strategic documents such as Market Requirements Documents, market assessments, or competitive analyses that inform product investment decisions.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of producing high-quality written and presentation materials for both technical and commercial audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Engineering, or a related scientific field.
• Preferred: Advanced degree (MSc, PhD) that provides peer-level scientific credibility.
• Preferred: Experience in the assigned segment as a researcher, analytical chemist, regulatory specialist, or applications expert.
• Preferred: A history of external scientific engagement, including publications, conference presentations, or participation in regulatory bodies.
• Preferred: Experience in creating competitive intelligence systems or structured voice-of-customer programs in previously non-existent environments.
